This is an edict of Asoka written in old Brahmin Mauryan script in which he warns the monks and nuns against creating schism in the sangha. Unfortunately that's what finally happened.



There are also lots of ruins of monasteries and temples.









Huge stupa on the place where the buddha gave his first teaching to his five friends he had left when he ate Sujata's rice pudding.
